Selina Ellen Sayers Borum, wife of Mark Borum, died early Friday morning at the family home near Shawnee Mound, after an illness of several month’s duration. She was 67 years old. The death is the first in the family during the forty-six years of married life of Mr and Mrs Borum, making for an unusual record. Mrs Borum was born May 15, 1854, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Sayers, near Sugar Creek. She was married September 23, 1875, to Mark M Borum, in which union seven children were born, all of whom, with the husband, survive. The children are: Mrs Junia S Roberts, Gary; Mrs Leona Knight, Indianapolis; Mrs Alpha Hollett, Pittsburgh, and Emery S, Helen , Ann and Ruth, who reside at home. The deceased had been a member of the Shawnee Mound church for more than forty years and her Christian character had endeared her to a large circle of friends. She was active in many church organizations. Funeral services will be conducted at the Shawnee Mound church Sunday morning with interment in the wheeler Grove Cemetery.
